What do you like to tell prospective clients about what your firm does best?
The clients can be confident that they will receive the highest quality transcripts produced by some of the most experienced reporters in the industry.

What is an example of how you’ve collaborated with an NNRC partner to help out a client?
We have provided coverage for last-minute jobs. Once we have committed to a job, we will stay as late as our NNRC partner’s clients have required.   We have delivered to the client’s hotel room boxes of documents that they needed us to copy and collate.   We take care of your client as you would.

What do you like best about your job?
The people and subject matters are very interesting. I compare being a court reporter to being a perpetual student. It also involves a little bit of psychology when dealing with some very strong personalities.

How do your services make a difference for your clients or the legal system?
One of the compliments repeatedly given to us is the quality of our transcripts and the ability to use them at trial. We have been told that there are actually transcripts that are so bad that they are not useable.

When you aren’t working, how would you describe the perfect day for you?
A perfect day would be rising early and enjoying a strenuous hike with friends on the trails that are in my neighborhood in Palos Verdes. This is always followed by a light breakfast. A perfect day would involve no working in the afternoon, enjoying a good book or even a nap. The evening would always involve eating at the latest and greatest restaurant and then a movie.

What kind of work did you do in your first job?
I started at age 12 as a boxgirl/cashier at my family’s mom-and-pop store. Although at the time I didn’t recognize how valuable an experience that was, it taught me how to interact with people and how to always focus on good service.   The lessons learned for the years I worked with my family have been very useful in running Abrams, Mah & Kahn and I am grateful I had that experience.
